Gentlemen,

In reply to your letter M/H.K.11999 of the 21st November with reference to Mr. V.N.Darkin, Police Constable, Hongkong, I have to inform you that on referring to my recorde I find that the vision of Mr. Darkin's right eye is marked as 6/6, but that the left showed a slight degree of myopia.

2. In view, however, of the fact that he was passed fit for service in the Gendarmerie of Palestine, that he served there for over a year satisfactorily, and of his general good health, I considered that I was fustified in considering that this slight defect of vision did not unfit him for service in Hongkong..
